What's New?
On this page, I will write about what’s been updated on the site. So feel free to check in here from time to time if you’re wondering whether I’ve posted something new.
I actually began the transformation to a responsive design back in August 2014, but unfortunately it wasn’t until almost two years later (June 2016) that I finally tackled the whole thing and made this fairly extensive revision of the site available. The hope is that it will appeal to you and, above all, that if you’re using a mobile phone or tablet, you won’t just snort and immediately head elsewhere.
Latest changes and additions are listed at the top.

So. I've just finished with the latest addition to this site, and that's a page about the basics for your computer security. There you'll find five good tips, IMHO.

Now it's complete (but not finished). I have now translated the entirety of my Swedish web site into English. It took some effort. Actually I used ChatGPT (as help or "support"), but I couldn't rely on its translations all the way, so I had to go through the text and change it were it seemed fair and sometimes obvious. Then I also had to make all the links and images (and other HTML and CSS coding) correct.
So, from now on you'll find the English pages through the flag icon on the top of every page (But, you're obviously already here.) Or you can use the so-called URL: en.sethpylad.se

I have now translated some of my pages into English. At the moment, only the index page and my absinthe pages are finished, but the work is ongoing, and eventually the dead links in the English menu will lead to existing pages.
So, the address to my English translated site is: en.sethpylad.se

Due to illness, I haven’t been at home with access to a proper computer to edit this site on. All I had left was my mobile phone. At first, I thought it would be incredibly difficult, not so much the editing itself, but mainly the file transfer (FTP) to the web host. But it actually turned out to be doable. So the boredom of being bedridden has now been replaced by a bit of activity… here on the site, that is.
We’re not talking about any major updates (of course). But at least I’ve edited my pages about absinthe so that they’re a bit more up-to-date and linguistically more correct. And I’ve also (believe it or not!) swapped out the last song, at the time of writing, for another one in my repository. Still by the same artist and from the same record/album, though.

Wow! Today I launched SethP's repository, a set of password-protected pages featuring hand-picked music that I wish more people would discover. It’s the kind of music you rarely (if ever) hear on the radio or on TV, which is exactly why I wanted to share it. The site is inspired by, and carries on the spirit of, the long-since discontinued Swedish radio program Lilla Bommen. The only catch is that you’ll need an invitation to get in.
(You can easily find the login details on my blog.)

A new page has been added. Once again, it’s about encryption—or rather, secure communication. This time featuring the excellent little app Signal, available for Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac, and Debian-based Linux... Read, learn… and "be safe out there"!
+ a new (though relatively old, from October 2018) photo has been added to my personal absinthe page.

I’ve (finally) added a (new) email address for anyone who might want to get in touch with me. You’ll find it at the bottom of all my pages in the form of a letter or email icon.
In addition to that, here it is as well… contact.me(a)sethpylad.se
(Protected with the help of Apache SpamAssassin.)
I’ve also added a small banner link on the homepage to Wopsa.se, the hosting provider where my site is hosted. I think they deserve a bit of advertising. After some recent trouble with my FTP login, they solved the issue in the best possible way, much to my satisfaction.

Very small, essentially insignificant, changes and additions prompted by the switch to a new web host at the turn of the year. Most of it concerns the image galleries, which I’ve now managed to make look a bit better (across different devices). But there are also a few minor additions, including a new photo and a link on my personal Absinthe Journey page.

New Address – New Website?
Well… uh… not really. Not at all, actually. It’s just that my old web space (at ComHem (nowadays Tele2)) is being shut down on February 28. So I simply had to look around for a new "place" to host the site. Maybe it’s a bit old-fashioned to have your own website these days, but it’s something I’ve really gotten used to. Besides, I feel that the subject of absinthe (at least in Swedish) is important enough to deserve a reasonably proper space. The same goes for my guide on how to encrypt your email under today’s most common operating system.
So, I went with a conventional web host (Wopsa.se) and registered my own domain name. There I can also experiment a bit with WordPress, databases, subdomains, PHP scripting, possibly email management, and other little things, if and when I feel like it. So for now and onwards it’s sethpylad.se that applies; in other words, the very domain you’re on right now. :-)

There isn’t really any new content on the site, just a replaced feature. It’s about the image viewer: I’m now using one called fancyBox instead of PhotoSwipe. I find fancyBox much easier to configure, and it works just as well (or just as poorly?) on all linked images across the site. The images no longer need to be contained within a single dedicated "gallery"; I can now create galleries or use the feature on individual images however I like. The biggest drawback, however, is that images don’t display as large as before on a mobile screen. That’s why I’m very interested in the latest version of PhotoSwipe, but it seems quite tricky to implement and to get working the way one (well, I) would like. At least it feels more complicated than before.

WELCOME!
I hereby launch my redesigned site — now adapted for both mobile devices and large screens. This has been achieved using so-called responsive web design. At the moment, you’ll only find information here (quite a lot of it, actually) about the excellent drink absinthe, along with some of my photographs. But more is on the way…
